There is nothing better than receiving sincere thanks from my clients for a job well done. Some of my clients have shared their thoughts with you below.
Thank you for your submission!
This is the second time I've worked with Barry on a property purchase and was just as satisfied as the first time. I sold my house in the suburbs and opted to move into a condo in the city. Initially, I was hesitant to call Barry as many of my colleagues told me that I had to use a broker who focuses only on city properties as there are too many unique nuances to purchasing a condo in the city of Chicago. Based on my previous experience and relationship with Barry, I decided to subvert the advice of my colleagues and reached out to Barry anyway. I was happy I did, as Barry had very good understanding of the different neighborhoods in Chicago, in terms of the qualities I was looking for (demographics, price, entertainment, proximity to express way and public transportation, etc.) Barry also understood the "bidding war" concept that happens often in the city when there is a lot of interest in a place. The day I found my condo, I actually initially like a different place and Barry encourages me to put offers in on both in the case that I was outbid on the first place. It turned out exactly as he had thought and I ended getting an accepted offer on the second place, which in hindsight is actually the better choice in terms of construction quality and location so I am VERY happy. I would continue to use Barry for any future real estate transactions and will highly recommend him to others.
Barry is a great realtor! He asked the right questions to find out exactly what we needed and why certain features were important to us. He constantly made suggestions to help broaden our search so we could find a home that fit what we wanted and stayed within our budget. Throughout the entire process he was incredibly responsive, often times responding to emails and text messages in far less than an hour. He gladly worked around our schedule to have a phone call or go see a new listing. He is incredibly familiar with the home buying process and was able to answer all of our questions, and we had many questions. Overall, Barry is great and we will definitely ask him to help when it's time for us to move!.
High recommend.
Barry works very hard and is very productive. I feel that he is on duty all the time. When we make appointment with Barry to see properties, we usually go in 1-2 days and sometimes even on the same day.
Barry knows real estate very well, including the property and the neighborhood. He will point out, even in front of seller agents, all the pros and cons he notices and how will that affect living quality and resale.
Barry understands the market and can suggest a fair price that will likely to close the deal. Buyer can choose more agressive pricing to get a great deal (like what we did), but usually at the risk the losing the deal.
We needed a realtor to help with finding a house for our move from California to Illinois. We had a challenge of finding a house remotely, and we had some specific requirements about the area, neighborhood, schools, as well as the price. Luckily, our friends recommended Barry Newman. Having a technology background, I can truly appreciate the system that Barry set up for us. Every day we would get pre-selected listings from Barry, review them, and get his detailed comments on pros and cons for each property.
When it was time for us to look at the properties we've picked in person, we had very limited time, and Barry had accommodated all our requests, driving us around the area and providing very insightful little details on each little neighborhood. Such level of knowledge is unattainable by someone who had not lived the entire life in the area, like Barry had. We could tell that Barry is well-respected in his circles by observing him communicating with other agents.
After we settled on the house we liked, Barry helped us greatly through all the steps of the process. In addition to knowing what to look for when buying a house, Barry also can easily tap into his network of attorneys, inspectors, loan brokers, and contractors.
In our opinion, the best part about working with Barry is that he protects his clients' interests, making sure that they get the right property at the right price. It is not common to get a privilege to work with a true professional, who is passionate and knowledgeable about his business. We strongly recommend Barry's services and will gladly use him again for our next real estate transaction.
Barry helped my wife and I find our new home. When it was time to sell my old 1 bedroom condo, I became very concerned as I did not believe the buyer's market was strong. Barry met with me and told me different things I could do to get the condo ready for sale after which he assured me he could get the job done. And so I did exactly as Barry said. After only a couple of months, my condo was sold. Thanks so much Barry!
I met Barry about a year ago at an open house in Buffalo Grove. This was at the very beginning of our house search. This particular home was Way beyond our budget. After I confessed that I was not looking for a million dollar home, Barry still took the time to educate me on the MLS, things to look for when purchasing a home, etc. (Being a first time home buyer, I was completely inexperienced). He spent an hour with me and when I came home and told my husband about Barry, we decided to work with him.
Being newlyweds ourselves, this was a huge learning experience for both my husband and myself. We were learning about the home buying process, and how to work together, as husband and wife, when making such a big purchasing decision.
Through our growing pains, Barry was patient, professional, and consistent.. he was always there for us as we tried to figure out what area and what price would work best for us. He has good relationships with professionals in the industry and made some very good recommendations for Loan Officer, contractor, and lawyer.
We did not believe that we could afford much, but Barry would not allow us to compromise on the quality of home that he felt we needed and deserved. In the end, he found us a beautiful townhome that fit all the criteria that we were looking for, plus so much more! Plus, it was right in our budget!
We are so grateful to Barry for taking this journey with us in purchasing our new home. I have no reservation in recommending Barry Newmann as your Real Estate Agent if you are in the market for a new home. You will make your purchase feeling like a well educated consumer.
As a first time homebuyer, aspects of my townhome search - filtering search results, viewing properties, and negotiating price - were at times overwhelming and stressful.
Enter Barry Newman. Barry's expertise, business acumen, and recommendations as far as individuals who could help me successfully close on my property of interest in a tight 12 days were extremely sharp and helpful.
He made a real effort to put himself into my shoes to help find the type of home I envisioned for myself and kept my priorities of location, home accommodations, and resale value at the top of mind.
Barry is a "make it happen" type of broker. From my experience with closing on my townhome on an extremely aggressive timeline, I highly recommend him to anybody interested in buying or selling real estate. Without a doubt, I will be leveraging Barry's services for any future real estate endeavors I pursue.
This note is a testament to the real estate broker services Barry Newman provided to my daughter Tricia Lee, and to myself as a first time homebuyer's parent.
We randomly encountered Barry as we searched real estate listings on the internet. Tricia was looking for her first home and with her apartment lease expiring in 3 months. We found that Barry made good use of internet access and advertising, as his name came up on numerous occasions, so we contacted him.
I made a cold call to Barry on a Sunday afternoon, and asked if he could meet us that very same day. Tricia travels occasionally with her job, and is also in graduate school part time, so our opportunities for house hunting were limited. Though he was conducting his own open house, he promptly made an appointment with us that very afternoon at 4pm, and showed us a few townhomes in Northbrook Green.
He was always available to show us a listing. Tricia was looking for something under $300K, and Barry gave us his full attention, though we know he has sold million dollar homes as well.
He never once pressured Tricia to make an offer. We made the offers when we were comfortable. He always offered words of wisdom from the heart - be it about resale value, schools, neighborhoods, what he perceived to be good value, or an overpriced property. If we wanted to make a $228K offer on a $269K property, Barry did not try to talk us out of it. He would honor the ask ("his fiduciary responsibility to his client") and made sure the seller got our offer, and saw that a counter-offer was pursued.
In the end, Barry helped Tricia close on the purchase of a new townhouse. He negotiated a price we are convinced we could not have gotten for ourselves, and he knew of the levers that were important to the builder in making those negotiations. I have bought and sold 3 homes, so I have an idea of what Barry did for us.
The anecdotes mentioned speak to Barry as a true professional. He did his job, and he did it well.
We also have found that Barry has a team of highly competent associates whom we utilized, including a home inspector, and a mortgage broker. We really needed competent people as Tricia executed an end-of-month closing within 12 days of committing to purchase. We have learned that if Barry makes a recommendation to us, we have to seriously consider it. Even if we might not agree on a point, Barry was professional about it, and would move on or work around it.
In the end, what makes Barry special is that he is a good person, he is a fun person to do business with, he has principles and standards he upholds to, and he is committed to meeting the needs of his client. We all know brokers work for commission, but with Barry, you also know that it will take care of itself in due time, and the commision incentive does not drive any negative behaviors. We hope to utilize Barry's services again sometime in the future.
Super honest, great at communicating, and highly experienced. I recommend Barry because he really tries to get to know you and find the home you’re looking for. Plus he’s hilarious and has tons of connections (with inspectors/ real estate lawyers, etc). Go with Barry! He’s an exceptional realtor.
